Emission Reduction Credits - Bay Area Air Quality Management District
Air pollution sources in the nine county metropolitan areas of San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose are subject to the rules and regulations of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District. The District is part of the San Francisco Bay Air Basin. The BAAQMD is nonattainment for California's ambient air quality standards for:
BAAQMD rules mandate that major new sources of NOx, precuror organic compounds (POCs) (precurors to ozone), and PM10 secure emission offsets.
